Climbing Types
Bouldering is climbing shorter walls (up to 15 feet) without ropes - thick crash pads protect you. Top-roping uses a rope anchored at the top of taller walls (30-45 feet) with a partner belaying you from the ground. Both are great for beginners!
For bouldering, no partner needed! For top-rope climbing, you'll need a belayer. Come with a friend or meet other climbers at the gym - our community is friendly and welcoming.
Lead climbing is advanced climbing where you clip the rope to anchors as you climb up. It requires certification at our gym. We offer lead climbing classes - see our classes page for details.
